Open doors to 500 artists

Where I live just on the outskirts of Paris is called Montreuil. It's a working-class area which has a communist town hall and is extremely left wing as you can imagine. Trendy Parisians come here to buy old factories to live in- I just have a small flat!
Montreuil is famous for cinema and artists and this weekend is the annual weekend where all the artists in Montreuil open their doors to the publc so you can go and have a nosy around their workshops and homes! I love it! I'll check in later to tell you what I saw or bought. Last year I discoverd there were about 8 artists just in my street!

All in a typical week

So what's life been like since my last post?

Well, the President of our company 'resigned' this week with immediate effect. Strange isn't it? Who leaves from one day to the next without saying goodbye to the 600 employees (1400 with commentators) he has lead for over 10 years- not even a sorry glass of wine, a few vol-au-vents and some smelly cheese at a goodbye "do". Nothing, nada.
Our President just went from one day to the next for "personal reasons", back to Italy. Oh I'm not worried about him professionally- he has his own TV station over there, is a close friend of Berlusconi and has several other business interests I imagine so he won't be kipping down on the streets of Rome, but still it was kind of big news this week- it just came out of nowhere- so tension amongst management must be pretty tightly strung at the moment...
Why do things like this always happen just when you need to get loads of things validated by management? All of a sudden your things become so insanely insignificant on their list that you may as well just not go into work (mmm good idea)

Apart from that I have seen a few friends this week:
Catherine: French, 34 single, graphic designer, funk obsessed. We ate world food at Zonga's (see photo above) and then went to our local bar where another friend, Nadia, works.
Nayla: Lebanese/French, 30, lives with bfriend, production assistant in sound studio. We ate at Mrs.Fuung Malaysian restaurant. Absolutely beautiful- 3 course meal for 15€. her friend is going into an obesity clinic and was having her last fatty meal- contrary to popular belief yes there are obese women in France- not all are size 8! (size 4 in USA)
Zohra: Morrocan/Sudanese/French, 34, single, various jobs. We ate French at a restaurant near the Père Lachaise cemetery- called Mère Lachaise. Lovely meal we put the world to rights, again.

Yes that's a typical week, going out, hanging around, going to different restaurants that don't cost the earth- Paris is not expensive!!

I also have been a sport freak this week- 2 hours of biking, 45minutes of swimming today and I'll do one hour of gym tomorrow and then even more this week- I want to get slim!! Is it too much to ask??? Just 6.36 kilos (14 pounds).

Anyway not much to report really...sorry it's not passionate, just rambling really, time to go to bed with my book of the week:
"Nice girls don't get the corner office- 101 mistakes women make in their careers" so this time next week I may have got a promotion, a raise and a company car...check in to find out!
